How InstaView Pro Started

InstaView Pro started as a personal project. Our founder, Alex Morgan, had quit Instagram for privacy reasons but found himself needing to check public figures' profiles for research purposes. The friction of creating a throwaway account just to view public content was frustrating — and unnecessary.

The first version of InstaView Pro was a simple internal tool. Within two weeks of sharing it with a handful of friends, word had spread and the tool had its first thousand users. The demand was clearly real.

Key Milestones on the Way to 12 Million

  • Month 1: First 1,000 users. The search bar, profile viewer, and basic post browsing were the only features.
  • Month 3: Added the Story Viewer after overwhelming requests. 50,000 users.
  • Month 6: Launched the Downloader. Reached 500,000 total profile views.
  • Month 10: Added the Follower Viewer. 1 million monthly active users.
  • Month 14: Redesigned the entire platform with a focus on mobile performance. 5 million total views.
  • Month 18: Hit 12 million profile views. Operating in 180+ countries. Zero data breaches, zero user data collected.
Our proudest achievement isn't the numbers — it's that we've never compromised on our core promise: zero personal data collection, ever. Not once have we been tempted to monetise user data, and we never will be.

What We've Learned

Privacy is a feature, not a checkbox. Users don't just want privacy — they want to feel it. That's why we went out of our way to ensure no login, no cookies, no tracking. The peace of mind is the product.

Speed matters more than anything. Our highest-impact engineering investment has always been performance. A tool that takes 5 seconds to load loses users permanently. We obsess over milliseconds.

People use viewer tools for overwhelmingly legitimate reasons. Marketers, researchers, journalists, privacy-conscious social browsers, people who've deleted their accounts but want to check in occasionally. The use cases are real and valuable.
